About This Event
Čorbijada brings teams to the shore of Slano Lake, next to Nikšić, to cook fish soup in their own cauldrons over open fire. The soup is made from carp, pike and trout, and a jury goes round the cauldrons to pick winners. The contest has grown into a regional event, with dozens of teams including crews from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia, and it is part of the city's September celebration.

Čorbijada 2026, the Božidar Čolaković memorial fish-soup cooking contest, on Saturday 12 September at Slano Lake below the dam. The accompanying post gives the programme: teams gather 8-9 am, opening and cooking at 10, winners at 3 pm; performances by KUD Zahumlje and DJ Boki. Prizes EUR 500/300/200; the soup must be made only from trout, chub, carp or pikeperch; entry fee EUR 40 per team, registration by 9 September.
