About This Event
The Festival da Sopa da Pedra takes over the Parque das Tílias in Almeirim, in the Ribatejo, at the end of summer. The sopa da pedra, a hearty bean-and-meat soup that is the town's culinary emblem, is the centrepiece, served alongside other regional dishes at stalls run by local associations. Concerts and craft stands fill the evenings. The festival is organised by the local gastronomic brotherhood together with the municipality, and recent editions have had free entry.
