About This Event
The Festival da Sopa de Aratiba is held on a Saturday evening around the start of winter in the Salão Paroquial, and is run by the Catholic community together with the town hall. Guests pay one ticket and taste a dozen or more soups, from agnolini and caldo verde to piranha broth and the local pien. Tickets sell out in advance and are first offered to residents. A show and a dance follow dinner, and the newest edition added a section of soups from the ethnic groups that settled the town. It is described in regional press as the only festival of its kind in the Alto Uruguai region.
