About This Event
In Proença-a-Velha, in the municipality of Idanha-a-Nova, the soup festival turns a small village into a tasting hall. Households, associations and restaurants enter their soups, and visitors taste them and vote for their favourites in separate categories. Local reports have called it the largest soup festival in the country, with the number of entries growing past one hundred. Music and folk groups, plus an accordion gathering the day before, round out the weekend.
