Liebigs Suppenfest - Gießen 2026

Around a dozen associations and initiatives set up stalls under the Marktlauben and on Lindenplatz, each cooking a soup that reflects their own cooking traditions, from Hessian classics to Ukrainian, Moroccan or Ethiopian recipes. Visitors vote for the prettiest stand, and the proceeds go to the groups' own work. A small stage programme with music and chemistry experiments from the Liebig Museum, named after the city's famous chemist, runs alongside.
