About This Event
Visitors get a spoon and a voting card and walk the hall sampling small cups of soup, chowder, bisque and stew from home cooks and restaurant chefs. Ballots are scored on a points system and trophies go to the top three in the amateur and professional divisions. The first event was held in 2009 and it has since outgrown several venues; it now runs a spring edition at the Carlisle Expo Center and an autumn one at a Harrisburg hotel. Proceeds support the AKT Foundation, which helps families in extreme poverty and domestic violence.
