About This Event
Vilnius turns pink for a festival built around šaltibarščiai, the chilled beetroot and kefir soup that Lithuanians eat all summer. Restaurants, cafes and bars across the city serve their own versions, and there is a Pink Soup Parade through the Old Town. Started in 2023, it has grown from a one-day event around Tymo Market into a three-day festival. Check the official programme for the venue map and what is on each day.

The third edition, on Saturday 31 May 2025, nearly doubled the year before: more than 93,000 visitors, about 18% of them from abroad. New this year was the first mass Pink Soup Parade, led by a giant beetroot mascot with a brass band, dancers and stilt-walkers, from Lukiškių aikštė to Tymo turgus, which brought out roughly 10,000 people. There was also the first Pink Walking Competition (a 10.5 km route in pink costumes, with steps exchanged for fruit, vegetables and soup ingredients), a Pink Waiters' Run in which 30 waiters raced with a bowl of soup without spilling it, the famous foam slide from Barbican hill into a giant bowl, pink pianos and photo spots around the Old Town, a pink flag on the TV tower, pink-lit bridges and chimneys, and the first pink summer train between Vilnius and Mockava. An evening concert on Town Hall Square featured Black Biceps, The Roop and Justinas Jarutis. A record 229 partners joined in. The 2024 records were presented in the Lithuanian Records Book 2025, and the organisers hinted that one day was no longer enough, announcing three days for 2026.
