About This Event

Vilnius turns pink for a festival built around šaltibarščiai, the chilled beetroot and kefir soup that Lithuanians eat all summer. Restaurants, cafes and bars across the city serve their own versions, and there is a Pink Soup Parade through the Old Town. Started in 2023, it has grown from a one-day event around Tymo Market into a three-day festival. Check the official programme for the venue map and what is on each day.

What's on

For its fourth edition the festival grew to three days (29 to 31 May 2026) and moved its main area to the White Bridge on the Neris river, with the giant foam slide, a kids' pink soup pool, a pink skate-bowl and food stalls. Saturday 30 May brought the first Pink Parade along the Neris embankment, with pink boats, kayaks and rowers on the river and more than 15,000 people on the banks, then a pink-costume contest at the bridge and a big concert on Town Hall Square with Angelou and Donatas Montvydas. Sunday had the IKI walking competition, a soup-eating contest and a tasting of foreign versions of šaltibarščiai. Other novelties were a citywide Pink Break lunch, a Pink Soup Bus, a pink train, and Vilnius Airport renamed Vilnius Pinkternational Beetport. Go Vilnius counted 176,650 visitors (33,800 from abroad), almost double 2025, nearly 7 tonnes of soup eaten and more than 330 venues taking part. Reuters, AP, ZDF, BBC and other outlets covered it.

On the menu

  • Šaltibarščiai (cold beetroot soup)
  • Pink cepelinai (festival food area)
  • International versions of šaltibarščiai (tasting by foreign restaurants)
How to read festival information

We work to keep festival information right, but festivals are run by others and details change. Here is how to read what you see on SoupFestivals.

Confirmed or expected

A confirmed date was announced for that edition. An expected date, such as "usually held around mid-October", is an estimate based on past editions, not an announcement.

Places can be approximate

We show a map pin and directions only when the venue's location is verified. If it is still unconfirmed, we keep the known venue name and town without a pin.

Check before you travel

Dates, prices, menus and venues can change, and festivals can be cancelled. Always confirm with the organizer before you go. If their information differs from ours, theirs is the one to follow.
